What we’ve done in 2018

Wohoo! Another succesful year. Here is a recap of the great things we’ve been able to accomplish because of partners like you.

A year of connections all around the world

This has been a special year of connections:

Meetups
Our partners hosted 189 Shopify meetups in 2018, almost twice as many as last year, and launched meetups in nine new cities. If you're interested in hosting a meetup in your city in 2019, contact Caitlin at meetups@shopify.com to learn more.

Pursuit
We hosted Pursuit, previously known as A Day with Shopify,in Bangalore, Berlin, London, Melbourne, and New York City. Over 900 partners came together from 25+ different countries in the pursuit of collaboration, progress, and powerful takeaways. Read 8 Actionable Tips for Running an Agency and Getting More Business for a round-up on some learnings from the NYC event.

Unite
Sold out in record time— three months before the event and was hosted in Toronto, Canada. Partners like you gathered to celebrate shared accomplishments, forge new connections, and ignite the future of commerce technology. Check out this recap from four partners about how they stumbled on the unexpected at Unite. If you missed the event, you can watch all the keynotes here.

Save the date for 2019, Unite will be hosted on June 18-20, in Toronto.

We built some cool stuff

The new Shopify App Store

Inspired by the commitment our partners show to merchants, we built a better designed, more intelligent App Store— to make it easier for merchants to discover and use apps to support their success. This is another example of how we are building the future of commerce together.

New Admin API in GraphQL

In an effort to optimize our partners' workflows, we’ve made building apps faster and easier. Now with the new GraphQL Admin API, partners have the full power to orchestrate complex merchant tasks with simplicity and efficiency. With less code to write, less room for errors, and built-in documentation, building an app with GraphQL is simpler and easier than with previous REST APIs. Partners continued to shine

Singapore's Jumpstart Commerce is Taking Over the World

Today, he and his partner Jeanette Lau are Shopify Experts at the helm of Jumpstart Commerce, a design and development agency with offices in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Jakarta, and Bangkok. Along the way, they've learned valuable lessons about scaling, growth, and entrepreneurship. They sat down with us to tell their story.

How Mohamed Ali Aguel Became an Ecommerce Education Superstar
